Scholarship Program

The Lancaster County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association awards seven $1,000 scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors from Lancaster County who enroll at a Penn State campus for each fall semester.

The Chapter grants two scholarships to female students and two to male students. The selection of these four scholarships is based strictly on scholarship, activities and personal qualities. To be eligible, you must be in the top half of your graduating class and have a minimum 1000 SAT score (the minimum academic requirements). Class ranking and SAT scores are important criteria. Extracurricular activities and supplemental letters written by the applicants also are significant evaluation factors.

In addition to the scholarships granted solely on merit, the Chapter is granting fifth, sixth & seventh scholarships based on financial need. Students who meet academic requirements and also have a financial need should submit a document explaining their need for financial assistance. In addition, the student must submit a copy of their parent's latest Federal Income Tax Return. This information will be held strictly confidential and will only be seen by the Scholarship Chairman.

Application forms are only available on this website. The applications have portions that must be completed by both the applicant and their school. It is essential that you provide your class rank, grade point average and SAT scores.

Scholarship Fundraising
We raise funds for our scholarships through the various programs we conduct each year. So patronize our events as often as possible! We also run an annual Scholarship Raffle, which typically is our best fundraiser. So be sure to purchase tickets!
