Hershey Park

We’re looking for volunteers to man some of the rides and concession stands at Hershey Park this August 19. For our efforts, Hershey Park will pay us an hourly wage per person that will go into our scholarship fund. Your reward will be your pride in helping others afford to go to Penn State, you get a FREE pass to Hersheypark for another day, AND YOU GET TO RIDE ALL THE RIDES FOR FREE FROM 5 P.M. TO CLOSING!

IS SPECIAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY?
Not if you graduated from Penn State! All right, maybe some of you helpless souls will need instructions. NOT! The only experience necessary is NONE. Your duties will consist of basic tasks, such as helping people on and off rides, serving food, taking pictures, etc. Specific training will be provided at the beginning of your work shift. In addition, volunteers will work side-by-side or within close proximity of Hersheypark employees who can answer any questions that arise. Friendliness, courtesy, and a positive attitude are the only skills required.

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?
All volunteers should present a neat and clean image. Males should wear dark-colored slacks or Bermuda shorts and a light colored shirt with a collar (polo shirts are good). Females should wear dark-colored slacks, skirts, or Bermuda shorts and a light colored blouse or shirt with a collar (polo shirts are good). Jeans and t-shirts are not acceptable. All volunteers should wear comfortable, non-slip work shoes or sneakers, since most positions involve standing the majority of the time. High heels and open-toed footwear are not permitted. Depending on the weather, you may wish to consider bringing a sweater or jacket, sun block, or rain gear.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Inclement weather may force us to operate on a limited basis; however, don't assume that you won’t be needed. If your services are not required due to inclement weather, Hersheypark will contact our fearless leader, Harry Flick, at least two hours prior to our reporting time and you, too, should call Harry for an update. If you sign up and later cancel or fail to report, we can be docked money; so sign up only if you’re sure you can help.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?
NO, NO, NO!!! If you do, you will be charged the full admission price for each child. It's bad enough that we have to watch the adults let alone kids!

If you are interested in helping, please IMMEDIATELY call Harry Flick at (717) 569-6280 to sign up.
